I was lucky enough to travel with my mother to London and The Cotswolds this September. My dad surprised us with plane tickets last Christmas so we could meet some long lost cousins who had found us while doing research on our family tree.
Exciting, I know!
I’d been to London on a formative Europe trip after high school, but only spent a few days there exploring. It was a dream of mine to return and it felt even more special to travel there with my mother to learn more about our English ancestry.
Full disclosure: While London was lovely (and stressful at times), the Cotswolds really stole the show for us. The natural beauty and a the slower pace of the English countryside made us feel right at home.
We’re country girls after all.
From the honey-hued brick buildings, thatched roofs, rolling green hills, farm fresh food, and medicinal herbs growing just about everywhere you looked, the Cotswolds imbue and instant charm that left us excited to return.
